4 Month Check-Up

We are back from Rosaleen’s check-up, and we don’t have the computer packed (uh-ooh). But at least I can post her stats.

Rosa is meeting all of her milestones and overall is very healthy. She weighted 16 pounds (93 percentile) and measured 25 and ¾ inches (94 percentile). Her head is 16.5 inches (77 percentile). In comparison to her two month appointment, Rosaleen has “thinned out” in the sense that she was in the 70th percentile for height at her last appointment, but the 92 for weight.

The doctor also told us about a couple videos that teach babies how to use baby sign language. She said she let her children watch them and they were able to starting signing a little around 10 to 12 months. Now typically the pediatrician instructs that babies should not be allowed to watch TV, but she didn’t seem worried about infants watching these videos. Of course, the parents have to watch them too. Ben said he is going to get them and he and Rosa are going to learn baby sign. I guess I better learn too. I don’t want them talking about me and me not even knowing it (just kidding).

  1. Baby Sign Langauge is the BEST! We got a late start with teaching Austin but she signs the following on a daily basis: milk, more, eat, please, finish/all done and bed. She now is says more and please but she still signs the word too.
