New pictures

Image
Here are a few new pictures from yesterday. As you can see Rosaleen is getting bigger day by day. Today she woke up approximately at 7 am and stayed awake playing with mom and dad until about 10 am, when dad changed her clothes and she had a giant meltdown. Then she had to eat and then take a nap. But overall that has been the longest stretch of awake time so far. Mom and dad had delusions of grandeur this morning and thought about taking a walk to the market, but the combination of rain/drizzle and baby feeding schedules and baby meltdowns over powered, and the McLernon family just stayed home instead. Enjoy the pictures! Oh P.S., this is the week the the poll predicted Rosaleen's birth would be.  Boy were we wrong (nobody chose week 38-- the week she was actually born)!

Busy Baby

Image
Wow- Rosaleen has been very busy since the last update. She met BaNana (grandma Jill), Grandpa Glenn, Grandma Janet and Grandpa Bob. She also met some of our friends and then she took a big road trip to Aunt Heather’s and Uncle Nick’s and she got to met her cousin Gavin, and see her cousin Ethan, who she already met on her birthday. Grandpa McLernon was there too, but she got to met him on her birthday too. In the last day or two Rosa has really started looking at things and she has much better control of her hands. She can easily get them into her mouth now, where as before I think if her hands got to her mouth is was just an accident. Here are some pictures from February 17th through 20th. I will take some new pictures tomorrow and post them so you can see how much she has grown.

1st check up

So last night little Rosaleen was a little lethargic and appeared to not want to eat. We took her temperature and it was slightly low. After a call to the advice line, the pediatrician suggested we go to the emergency room because everything else was closed on Sunday night. He had to say that, better to be conservative than say not to go, right? So we took her to the ER in Sacramento. Luckily they admitted us right away. The nurse was a bit cookie and daddy wasn’t happy. The nurse got us in a room and once we got situated, she came back in and said we were in the wrong room…ok…fine. So after a small tour of the ER, we got to another room. We got situated…then she came in and said we were in the wrong room, again! Daddy was NOT HAPPY! She is three days old; lets get things together and get out of here. Anyway…after an assessment, she was fine. Temperature was higher, pulse was great, and oxygen level was great. Let’s go home Rosaleen! Today Rosaleen had her first checkup. She is d...

Rosaleen Grace McLernon is here!

Image
Hi all, it's Ben.  I told Sunny I would never blog…so... Here are a few pictures of MY DAUGHTER! She is so perfect! I cannot believe she is here and I can hold her. Sunny is the best mommy ever and we are having so much fun and love with little Rosaleen. Now I know what it feels like. Parents always say they cannot describe how it feels. Well, I really can’t either. Words don’t express enough. Rosaleen is perfect, sweet, beautiful, HUNGRY (eats like a little barracuda), wonderful, great...I can go on! She will make you cry if you look at her face to long, just warning you. Sunny’s water broke at 12:30 a.m. on February 11. We had nothing ready to go. Sunny called her mom, while I packed everything in like 30 seconds. We weren’t expecting her to come and surprise us for Valentines Day. We finally got to the hospital at around 2 a.m. I watched the entire delivery and it was amazing. As soon as she was here, the midwife placed her on Sunny’s chest and we got her all to our se...

38 week OB appointment

Ben and I went to see the CNM today. Although theoretically the baby can decide that she is ready to join us at any time , she hasn’t done much as far as getting into position to come out. She is still in the head down position, but she is a station negative 3 or 4, which means she has a long way to move down before she can get out. Again, theoretically, she can move down in just a few hours, but chances are it will take a little time. The fabulous news is that her heart sounds great and she is wiggling around all the time (which is a good thing medically speaking). The CNM had no problem with me continuing to work because my blood pressure is really good and I am not having any late pregnancy problems. We won’t go back for a check up until February 23—if I am still prego then. As the poll predicted—it looks like week 38 is not going to be our magic week. –There is always next week. I think she is waiting for the rain to completely stop before she comes............... so I will be wa...

Final Results of the Poll

Image
Based on our poll results, Ben and I are having a redhead somewhere between February 27th and March 5th.  However, Ben and I have our own predications---- so feel free to post yours in the comments. Ben thinks Rosaleen is coming either February 16th or 17th and I am guessing she will arrive February 19th or 20th. **So MOM—these are guesses. Don’t change your plane ticket. Ben and I (and Casha the dog) took a BIG walk this morning before the rain came :).

my friend took these pics for us

Here are a few fun pictures of Ben and Rosaleen and me. In other news, it is raining here. Oh wait- that is the same news as last week (and the week before AND the week before). I am wishing for some constant sunshine so Ben and I can go walking (and hopefully encourage the baby to come out). PS- 1 day left to vote on when the baby is coming!
