Visitors!

Image
We had visitors over this past weekend. Jessica, Nick and their two year old son Jaxon came out from Arizona to visit us and to meet Rosaleen for the first time. We had such a great visit. It was really, really fun. The weather has been cool and overcast, which they enjoyed because it is warm in Arizona already. Rosa and Rosaleen While our visitors were here, we all went to a BBQ at my friend Cathy’s house. The food was great and it was really fun to hang-out outside of the house. We have started calling my friend Rosa who was at the BBQ “the baby whisperer.” Babies seem to love her. Because Rosaleen loves Rosa so much, Rosa is kindly coming over this week to babysit Rosaleen while Ben and I go out to dinner to celebrate our two year anniversary! It will be the second time BOTH Ben and I have been away from her at the same time. We left Rosaleen with Kimberly earlier this week while we dropped off my car at the mechanic ( I lost a weight off a tire). Jaxon Goi...

Happy Birthday Kimberly

Image
Today Kimberly turned 18 (I think she would add a finally to the end of this sentence). Despite this big occasion, she still had class all day long today, so we had a mini celebration last night. Happy Birthday Kimberly. Happy Birthday!!! Rosaleen is continuing to get stronger and she is reaching and grabbing more things. I had a quilt thrown over the side of the crib and on Saturday while she was playing there, she pulled the quilt down. I was standing right there watching and cheering her along—however I had to take the quilt off the crib after that. I am attaching a few pictures of a quilt that Rosa’s cousins made her. It is very beautiful and such a blessing to receive something with such special wishes for her. Rosa’s cousins embroidered the quilt—and I think you’ll agree that they did an amazing job. Rosaleen using her hands to grab! On a completely different note, Ben’s sister has a picture of her father, her uncle and her aunt when they were very young. The b...

Happy Mother's Day

Image
Happy Mother’s Day to all you mamas. Ben and Rosa and I tried to take a nap today--- but when we did Rosa decided she wasn’t tired. Then she and I got up, and about 10 minutes later she decided she was tired and fell asleep—so now I am up. Showing off my pants!                                              Getting busy in my exersaucer This week has been a big week for Rosaleen! Besides babbling up a storm, she got a new playmat. She LOVES it. Since she got it (Monday I think), Rosaleen has learned to bat toys with her hands (her right hand mainly), and she learned to roll from her tummy to her back. I have a video of her rolling that I will try to post. She has rolled over several times, so I think tummy time is basically over for her—she never really li...
