Oklahoma Trip

Image
Packing for the trip Before going to Oklahoma We’re back from Oklahoma! We had a GREAT time and Rosaleen is visiting machine. She did great on the plane and she was so good on all the car trips we took (many of them very long). She got to meet so many family members and she loved them all. Grandpa Allen and Selah Abby's Cupcakes Ellie and Rosaleen Sarah and Rosa We flew into Dallas last Friday. There Grandpa Allen and Nannie Taresa picked us up and we went to visit Rosaleen’s Great Aunt Chris, her beau Bill and Aunt Chris’s grand-daughter Victoria. Rosaleen was a little tired from the long trip (3 and half hour plane ride, and one hour car ride to Aunt Chris’s house), but she loved meeting the new people and they loved meeting her too. We had a lot of fun, but couldn’t stay long. That evening we got back in the car for the two and half hour drive to Grandpa Allen’s house. Two month check up

Image
Rosaleen had a two month check-up appointment today. Mom and dad of course accompanied her to the appointment. Little Rosaleen is now 13 pounds (92nd percentile for age) and she is 23 inches (70th percentile for age). –She loves to eat:). Also, the doc said that Rosa did a good job holding her head up when she was on her tummy. Rosaleen is usually not very interested in tummy time, but at the appointment today she really liked the crinkling of the paper on the exam table—so she was really showing off the doctor when we put her on her tummy. Ben and I joked that we are going to put parchment paper down in her crib for her next tummy time. Overall the doctor said she was very healthy. They also gave Rosa her vaccines today. She cried a little at the office, but after she woke up from her nap this afternoon she was super unhappy. It was pretty sad. She had a giant tear running down her cheek while she was screaming. She is sleeping again now. Now that Rosa is two months old her hair...

Rosaleen’s 2-month birthday!

Image
Little Rosa is two months old today! Wow. Although it doesn’t seem like the second month went by quite as fast as the first, it is crazy to me to think that two months has passed since our little one was born. In Rosa’s short two months she has developed a few “favorite things”. The first favorite she has is the ceiling fan in our bedroom. I think that it is her best friend right now (besides mom and dad). Every morning she wakes up and seems so happy to say hello to the ceiling fan. It is very cute. Rosa also really likes the polka dotted curtain in her room. She loves to intently stare at it. She’ll hold her head up and stick her neck out to get a better view of the curtain. Also, like most babies she LOVES to snuggle. She is a snuggle bunny. Mom and dad indulge her as much as possible in this area. As I think I have mentioned Rosa really likes to eat which is a good thing, but she is not a fan of the bottle. We have tried to give her several different kinds, but the older she gets t...

Happy Easter

Image
I guess it has been a bit since we blogged, but it seems like the day just flies by before we get a chance to even get near the home computer. Rosa is getting stronger all the time and I can’t believe how big she is for seven weeks old. She is sleeping longer periods during the day and eating more too. When she is awake, we often can make her laugh and smile and she will coo back at us. I am also trying to get her to use her hand to suck on so she is not soooo into the pacifier, but she really hasn’t caught on to the hand trick at all. This weekend we went to Ben’s sister’s house for Easter. Besides seeing her Aunt Heather and Uncle Nick, Rosaleen got to see her cousins Ethan and Gavin and her Grandpa Pat. Last night we dyed eggs and this morning the little boys got to hunt for eggs. They had a great time and they were very good at egg hunting. I am attaching some pictures of Rosa in her Easter dress that Grandpa Allen and Taresa sent to her before she was even born ( I think it ...
