6-month check up and more

Image
MMMMMmmm, applesauce I am not sure what go into Finn this morning at breakfast, but he was being silly.  Work keeps getting in  my way. I have a lot to blog about, but I never get a chance. I have some pics on teh home camera that I want to post, but these phone pics are a start.   Last week Finnley had his 6-month check up.  He was a champ and had no problems (although he did seem a little scared of the stethoscope).  He didn't even cry when he got his shots. Not to say that he was happy, but he didn't scream.  His stats: Length: 28 and a 1/4 inches (97 percentile) Weight: 18 pounds, 13.6 ounces He is sitting up by himself and rolling his way through the living room. We also have started him on solid foods and he loves it.  I was feeding him avocado or apple sauce every few days, but he really wants more. I am now feeding him twice a day--- which is really slowing my roll. ...feed your baby and be late for work, or don't fee...

Time is passing by

Not much time, but a lot going on.  First, I went back to work (BOOOO). Ben then took some FMLA time and stayed home- but that is over too and now we are both working full time.  That means not much time for blogging.  However, the kids are great and Finnley is doing great at daycare with Rosaleen.  Rosaleen visits him throughout the day and she is a big comfort for him.  Finnley got his second tooth on Halloween and he is already working on his top teeth!! I can't  believe it.  Also, he can balance sitting up for a short bit (like 10 or 20 seconds).  He is trying to get into crawling position too.  He is a super roller, and if he wants something, he'll just roll over to it. Rosaleen is doing great.  She has such an encouraging spirit and a knack for helping out.  She is always caring for Finnley.  She loves baby talk now, and I can see that it will be sticking around for a long time. I had to give her hair a little tr...

There is so much more that I want to share, but now I am back to work and Ben in school and working, there is not enough hours in the day........sad.......................

Sibling time

Yesterday morning, this is what I saw as I was getting the kids ready. Sadly, our leisurely mornings are coming to an end.  I start back to work  in two days. Bla. Ben will be taking intermittent FMLA so he can help get the kids ready and to daycare/school.  Finnley is going to the same place as Rosaleen.  I am sure he will be ok there, but our whole life is going to be the hustle and bustle.   At least I have these videos.

Nap time.......I thought

Image
Rosaleen doesn't usually take a nap on the weekends.  However, a lot of the time I  have her do quiet time in her room for an hour and a half.  This consists of her playing by herself quietly in her room.  She is allowed out of bed and generally pulls out all her toys and makes a huge mess. However, a couple of Saturday's ago everyone in this house was exhausted and horribly grumpy.  Mommy decided it was mandatory nap time for everyone.  Obviously I thought it was a good idea and honestly the boys were asleep before I could even tell them they had to take a nap. The only person not sold on the idea was Rosaleen.  She really wasn't having it.  She did not like the idea of a NAP, however, she was so tired I knew the day would not go well if she only had quiet time.  She needed a nap (so did I). The predicable crying began and eventually ended, but Rosa was awake.  She laid in her bed  and every so often would call me until she woke me...

A little story

Image
A few days ago I was trying to finish up dinner.  Rosaleen was playing and Finnley was in his swing fussing and bored. Me: "Rosaleen, go talk to your brother while mommy finishes making dinner." (Finnley in his swing fussing) Rosaleen: "Ok" Soon it is very quiet.  Mommy goes to check and this is what I find:   Well, everyone was happy.   No super major news here.  Summer is basically over and I go back to work in just about 2 weeks.  Finnley seems to have relapsed to no bottle...................... Rosaleen is doing great.  Fun as can be, although we are working on her whining.  As in we are working at decreasing how much of it she does.   We had a super fun BBQ at Doug and Annie's.  Of course Lucas was there.  I think I can snag some pictures off face book of that outing.  The kids had a great time.    Finnley is getting so strong.  He is also a little spontaneous.  Sometimes when...
