After my last post I realized I forgot a very important update. In July Aunt Chris and Aunt Kathy came out from Dallas, Texas to visit. They stayed at cousin Brian’s house in Carlsbad, and Brian was nice enough to host us a couple time. It was a great visit and Rosaleen got to play a lot, but I got to chit chat with my Aunts too. It was a really fun visit. We have a few pictures to post, and I have to say, those Texas ladies are looking good.

September has been a hot month. We are glad October is here and we hope that it brings some cooler weather. Because of the heat we have made several trips to the beach in the last couple weeks (pictures included).

Ben has been working on the house when he can. The laundry area is functional and has been plumbed, wired and dry-walled, but it still needs to be taped, textured and painted….. Oh yea, and the floor tiled. Lots to do. Hopefully the laundry area and bathroom can be finished this year????????



Rosaleen is getting more and more independent. She likes to read me stories, or tell me a story (always three little pigs). She always likes to pick out her own shoes to match her outfit. We have been working on new ASL signs and she is getting very good. I am a bad estimator, but I would estimate she knows 200 ASL signs.

The Kitties are SO Fun

Rosaleen’s hair is starting to really thicken up. It is making it harder for me to do her hair. I was finally good at doing fine, little baby hair (tips to moms: you need a spray bottle and a comb for straight parts), but now her hair is getting hard to handle. Because her hair is curly (and I am used to straight hair), it is hard to manage it sometimes.

    That was a whole lot of stuff!! Not only are your Aunts darn good looking - their crazy too!!

Hi all, it's Ben.  I told Sunny I would never blog…so... Here are a few pictures of MY DAUGHTER! She is so perfect! I cannot believe she is here and I can hold her. Sunny is the best mommy ever and we are having so much fun and love with little Rosaleen. Now I know what it feels like. Parents always say they cannot describe how it feels. 12 week ultrasound picture

Attached is the 12 week ultrasound picture that I mentioned in the previous post. You can see above the head is a hand and if you zoom in you can even see fingers. To the other side, up above the baby you see a little thing. That is a foot. In the ultrasound the baby was kicking her legs and moving-- put when the picture was taken, the leg was out of sight, so you just see the foot up top. But I promise- that is a little footsie. SO CUTE! In other news, my very sweet mother sent me a set of new maternity clothes today—AND I really need them. I had to wear a suit to work today for a meeting- and it was terrible. I had rubber bands and safety pins holding up my pants but it still wasn’t working. By the time the end of the day came I was so stressed and uncomfortable I couldn’t take it. What a perfectly timed surprise to find new clothes on my door step. Thanks Mom.

Lazy Summer (not)

Sitting up in the back yard!  It has been a busy week here. Rosa has not been sleeping great.  Last night she fell asleep next to daddy with a hand full of his hair.  The car has been in the shop all week. They still can't seem to fix it right.  Rosaleen is almost a pro at rolling all over the place. Once you put her down, she doesn’t stay put for long. Also, her attention span is starting to get a little longer, so she can occupy herself for longer periods of time—maybe 20 minutes or so on a good day.  If she drops something she will look down looking for it and can follow things around now.  Her favorite things to watch are Fred (the cat) and Casha (the dog).  She squeels in delight when she sees Casha. We are still giving Rosa rice cereal.  Yesterday Ben gave her sweet peas. She loved them.  There is a video of her eating at the bottom. MMMMMMMMM!  Ben and Rosa are still staying home ...
