Visitors!

We had visitors over this past weekend. Jessica, Nick and their two year old son Jaxon came out from Arizona to visit us and to meet Rosaleen for the first time. We had such a great visit. It was really, really fun. The weather has been cool and overcast, which they enjoyed because it is warm in Arizona already.

While our visitors were here, we all went to a BBQ at my friend Cathy’s house. The food was great and it was really fun to hang-out outside of the house. We have started calling my friend Rosa who was at the BBQ “the baby whisperer.” Babies seem to love her. Because Rosaleen loves Rosa so much, Rosa is kindly coming over this week to babysit Rosaleen while Ben and I go out to dinner to celebrate our two year anniversary! It will be the second time BOTH Ben and I have been away from her at the same time. We left Rosaleen with Kimberly earlier this week while we dropped off my car at the mechanic ( I lost a weight off a tire).

In Rosaleen news, she is doing well and using her hands more every day. She can grab with both her hands and she has started to pull my hair when she gets the opportunity. Also, because she is using her hand to swat and grab our faces, Ben and I now have even more motivation to keep her nails trimmed. She is practically an expert at rolling from her tummy to her back and can do it in just seconds. This skill seems to have given her more comfort about being on her tummy and now she actually will spend time on her tummy without crying. We’ve found that her relaxed tummy time is also a good way for her to get rid of gas.

Ben has been sick for a couple of weeks now. What stared as a couple weeks of severe allergies turned into a chronic cough, which turned in to bronchitis. In addition to bronchitis, yesterday he had food poisoning . We are hoping that he gets well soon. Besides missing a lot of work, his cough has made his sides sore and severely interrupted our sleep.
