Hot Summer, 2012

Ashley, Abby and Rosaleen (2nd cousins) Poor Justin, needs a few boy cousins! Rosaleen loves to play and copy the big girls Well the end of August is near, and I must say, it has been hot around here.   It is cooling off again, but Rosaleen and I have been going to the public pool most weekends.   Daddy sometimes joins us, but he has been trying to work on the house in between visitors.   Since the last blog, we have had Aunt Heather and Uncle Nick and cousins Ethan and Gavin, Grammy Jill & Grandpa Glenn, Grandpa Pat and Geri, Clint and Brorlynn stay with us; and we got to visit with our cousin Krista Kay and her family (at cousin Brian’s house)!   It has been a lot of fun seeing everyone, but Ben has been busy entertaining, so the bathroom/laundry room has been neglected.   Also, Rosaleen’s other cousins, Carter and Camdyn had a big birthday bash, which clearly left an impression on Rosaleen.   Their pirates and princess party ...

Oops. I missed June. It went by so fast. Rosaleen has been doing so well. She hasn’t really been sick since May. She is doing so well with her letters and numbers and she even drew a square with a circle inside of it. I was VERY impressed. She LOVES her babies and now she holds up her Mickey Mouse and tells me, “Mommy, here is my daughter.” She also tells me “good job” all the time. I am going to get an inflated ego if she keeps this up! She also loves to color and now we have some markers, which is her new favorite. Overall, I just can't express how much joy Rosaleen brings us. She is hilarious and sweet, and she is getting very good at following directions. Daddy has been very busy with a million home improvements. The plumbing/bathroom issue will be on-going, but I will try to update about it every once in a while. Right now the back bathroom is out of commission and has a GIANT hole in the floor where Ben crawls under the house to redo the piping. Thank ...

visitors, sick, and sick again

Blog what— Well I wish I was better at blogging, but I guess I will just have to continue to work on it J Sick baby So, what’s been going on here? Hmm, well cold, fever, ear infection, followed by cold, fever, and possible pneumonia…. Oh, yes.   Followed by antibiotics.   And that is just Rosaleen.   Daddy has been/is sick too.   What. On the fun side—Pawpa and Nannie came to visit for a week.   It was great.   And they brought tons of food with them!!! Yes!   They has just had a pig butchered, and we ate a bunch of it!   We went to the beach, and Rosa went to the park 50 times with Nannie and Pawpa.   It was great.   Also, they helped mommy and daddy get the flower beds under control.   Thank goodness they did or mommy and daddy would have avoided that task forever. Dance class with special audience Rosaleen has been doing so well.   She is a great mommy to her babydolls.   She is constantly rockin...

Friends, grandparents and Easter

At Balboa Park Happy April……..already.   Rosaleen is doing great and is doing really well at potty training.   One of the major hang ups though is that she is terrified of public toilets.   If I even take her in a stall, she goes nuts.   Right now I am just keeping her in diapers when we go out, so we don’t have to deal with it, but soon we’ll either have to take her little potty with us, or convince her the public potty is not so scary.    We’ve had lots of visitors in the last month.   Besides sweet cousins Carter and Camdyn coming over for Saint Patrick’s Day dinner (where I took no pictures), friends Rosa and Barbara came down from Sacramento to spend the weekend with the McLernon’s.   The next weekend we went to visit Arizona grandma and grandpa.   Rosaleen had a great time doing basically whatever she wanted there J   Then we went to Aunt Heather’s house for Easter and Rosaleen got to play with cousin’s Ethan and Gavin. ...

Fun in the Sun weekend

Good morning everyone, just a quick blog to share our fun weekend.   On Saturday we all went to dance class, and then to Mission Beach for breakfast, sand and sea J   We had a fun time and Rosaleen used up a lot of energy! First, Rosa has been taking dance class since January.   She is getting to know all the dances and does some of them by herself (without mommy).   She even does them at home sometimes.   This studio puts on a recital every year in December.   I am not sure if Rosaleen will participate or not.   She can be   very shy sometimes.   It took her a month to really participate in the dance class, and another two weeks after that to participate without mommy standing one inch from her.   I doubt very much that she would be ready to go on the stage in December, but no decision has been made yet. Doing her turns Tapping toes Looking in the mirror Daddy got us a sunshade—thank goodness, and we brough...
