End of the month update

Image
Hi Everyone, Rosaleen has been quite busy lately. She surprised some relatives and friends by showing up in Arizona unannounced. We had a great weekend visit and got to see Grandma and Grandpa and lots of others too. She has also been babbling and using her sign language a lot. However, you have to have a keen eye to know what she is saying. She is doing really well and is such a joy to Ben and I. Everyday I go to work I am so sad that I won’t be spending the day with her. I am however looking forward to the age when she stops throwing her food on the ground. It seems that as soon as I stop paying attention, she takes all her food and throws it overboard. This in addition to the piles of food she accidentally spills creates a chronic food pile in the dining area. I DO clean it up, but it is so bad that during the day Rosaleen cruises that area for snacks. You can often hear me telling Ben, “Rosaleen is hungry, she is eating the food under her highchair.”...

What? Me blog?

Ok, I think I have blogged once on here....Sunny asked me to blog tonight because she is busy with poor Rosaleen and her ear infection and teething.  We are also trying to get her to go to sleep without a bottle.  Joy! Rosaleen is her happy self even with an ear infection.  Here we are at the beach again, she LOVES it!  We love it to.  She squeals and runs and falls in the sand...she is an outdoor girl for sure, we don't mind. Another of her favorite things is eating.  Sunny seems to like to let little "Rosabean" eat wherever, even if it does cost us an outfit or two.  Here she is eating some noodles and spaghetti sauce.  See her using her spoon! I have taught her to say apple and she does it quite well and often.  Anytime she sees an apple...or a tomato, an onion, or small red ball, or a pear, or anything round that just might be an apple...she says "ap-ple."  She loves to grab them at the grocery store and start...

Zoo

Image
Last weekend we went to the zoo with some friends that were visitng from Sacramento.  It was  a great time!  Rosaleen had a blast, despite the fact that we lost her bottle and she didn't sleep ALL day. Everything here is well-mostly.  I was hopeing that our move to San Diego would improve Ben's allergies; but it hasn't. If it was even possible for them to get worse, then they did.  Additionally, mine have been a mess since we got here, and Rosaleen has been congested a lot since our move too.  Currently she has an ear infection.  This is her second since moving here. Other than ear infections, Rosaleen is doing great.  She is walking and trying to say apple and diaper.  She is signing a lot, but now that she has a wide range of signs, they kinda are all starting to look the same. Often she is waving her hands in front of her and I know she is trying to sign, but I have no idea what she is trying to say.  She still only has six...

Rosaleen's Birthday!

Image
It has been an amazing year. Rosaleen turned one year old last Friday! Happy birthday Rosaleen. She is such a happy little one. Ben and I are so blessed to be her parents. Having her gives me a little bit more perspective on how much the Lord loves me (us). My party pal (and cousin) Carter! I LOVE this car Cute cousin Lucas (second cousin I think) Its not a party without cookies This isn't a cookie, but I'll try it anyway Camdyn says, "I love that toy!" Three generations! Overall Rosaleen’s birthday party was great. She was very lucky to have grandparents, aunts, uncles, great aunts and uncles and cousins and 2nd cousins all at her party! However, just a note: NOTHING went according to plan. Oh yea, I love this Here are a million pictures of the party and I have many more to post of when her cousins Ethan and Gavin were here, and I have more to post of Mission Bay with cousins Camdyn and Carter. ...

Busy weekend here, and I don't have the picutres downloaded yet.  It was Ethan's 5th birthday and boy did we celebrate!  I will post the pictures this week I hope.  In the mean time, here are some picutres from January.  I think there are a few cute one!

T-KO'd

So, I am just wondering........you'all with kids..........do they beat you up?  Not intentionally, but Ben and I feel like we need safety goggles and possibley a helmet or body armor around here. Rosaleen is CONSTANTLY hitting us with a toy, or shoe, or something and she pokes us in the eye a lot.  Not little pokes either.  She flapps her hands and rakes her fingers over our eyeball about once a week. She does end up in our bed a lot, so of course we get the kicks to the face and ribs, but usually, those are not as bad. If you could just weight in on this, I think Ben and I might feel better:)

We had a very busy weekend --great fun all around, but it leaves very little time for blogging:)  Great news though, we took Rosaleen to the doctor today to make sure that her ear infections were gone and they are, AND there is no fluid in her right ear and very little in her left!  This is the first time that she has had very little fluid in her ears since AT LEAST September.  I think it can be attributed to the exceptionally warm weather San Diego has been having, considering it is winter.  It was 78 today (and 48 in Sacramento). Ben started work, so far so good. Things are fine with my work.  I still wish we could get a closer daycare. We are on the lists................ I will try to get the Sea World pics off my phone and post them soon.  They really are cute.
